Counselor Deb is a seasoned individual and group counselor who brings her warmth and humor along with diverse training to “walk” and guide her clients along their journey. Whether counseling individuals or groups she focuses on their desired outcomes for counseling.
Deb Gion, LPC*, CGP*, CP* was graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught for 5 years then was accepted into the Master of Counseling Program at Arizona State University and completed that program in 1982.
She has lived in Tempe for 36 years. She raised her two children here, then watched them become independent adults and spread their wings.
She has worked in a psychiatric hospital and as a Home Based Counselor in the Gila River Indian Community, just south of the Phoenix area. However, most of her career she has been in private practice in Phoenix and Tempe. She also travelled to Canada regularly to conduct psychodrama sessions in a trauma recovery program for the First Nations People of Canada on Vancouver Island. “I am so fortunate to work in a field that is one of my strongest passions. The clients who allow me to travel with them a short time on their journey grant me a great privilege. I have been graced with the opportunity to conduct over 10,000 psychodrama sessions in my career so far, and I am not nearly done.” Deb worked for 10 years in the Gila River Indian Community counseling intense substance abuse and domestic violence victims and offenders. She spent a year in Maricopa, Arizona working with court-ordered domestic violence offenders.
She has also studied the Enneagram extensively and finds it helpful with many clients who readily combine personality, psychological and Spiritual growth as they heal.

Deb and her husband live quietly with their collection of dogs and cats who gladly entertain them. Deb enjoys yoga and Tai Chi for both physical and Spiritual health.
